Our first stop is the seaside settlement of Agia Pelagia, one of the touristic areas of Kythira with an organized beach, located in the northern part of the island.

Arrival Kythira

We will board on a coach and and start our tour going West to visit the Monastery of Panagia Myrtidiotissa. Passing through a wild and rocky landscape that alternates with green vegetation, we will reach the Monastery to first admire the 25-meter-high imposing bell tower, built with stones from the Kytherian land.
Our next stop will be the capital of the island, Chora or Kythira.
Arriving at Chora, the settlement will surely impress you as you walk through the picturesque main street with the cafes, small shops, traditional arches, and the church of Estavromenos (dedicated to the Crucifixion of Christ). In Chora you will have enough time to visit its shops and enjoy your coffee.
We will take again the coach and we will go down to Kapsali, the beautiful port of Chora. Kapsali which has a permanent population of just 55 inhabitants, but during summertime it becomes quite busy. We will have enough time to enjoy its wonderful blue flag award-winning beach and water sports and walk through its cobbled beach road is lined with restaurants, bars and cafes.
Our next destination is one of the most impressive monuments of Kythira, “Katouni” stone bridge built during British occupancy, and it is the biggest – still used – stone bridge in Balkans. We will learn a lot about a romantic myth that accompanies the story of its construction.
